It’s a phenomenally constructed love story about 2 vastly different women whose intensely powerful feelings for each other transcends all boundaries. Loved the interaction between Faith and Sidney. When the two women meet there is instant attraction which neither of them are willing to acknowledge. No trivia or quizzes yet.
As suspected her father goes into rage mode and the only thing in his way is Faith’s brother who stands up for her. It intrigued me so much I’m off to read more about these women. Karin Kallmaker has been exclusively devoted to lesbian fiction since the publication of her first novel in I love this story I love all of Karin’s stories, of course but this one is extra interesting with the historical content!
Hands down, “Wild Things” is arguably one of my top 3 favourite Kallmaker novels definitely one of my all-time favourite novels including its sequels: I completely agree with the previous reviewer! I always expect to love her books but this one took me by surprise. My how times have changed. I was a little bored with the whole Elenor thing, but I kept going and ten really began o love the characters and the story.
Before I began I didn’t realise the role Catholicism would play in the story, usually I avoid books where religion plays a large role. I had to check the publication date to aprreciate just how far acceptance of same sex relationships have come in the past almost twenty years. The very best of what lesbian romance has to offer.
So now having re-read it, I’ll assume the vague memories of Eleanor will again be the only thing I remember about this book a year or so from now. It’s set in the mid 90’s in Chicago. This is my favourite, Sydney and Faith and their love story, two smart, lovely, tortured women, I have read it ten times at least and recommend it and or lend it all the time.
And we get to go home. Like when she says- “For every thought of him, I think of you a hundred times,” I found myself highlighting line after line with my ereader. It’s not earth-shatteringly terrible, but it’s far from great. I was able to breeze through it in a day while resting between chapters of “Life After Life”.

This is my first Karin Kallmaker book but it certainly won’t be the last. It began to show its age a bit. The first half of this was better than the second, in my opinion.
When the two women meet there is instant attraction which neither of them are kain “The Sixth is Serendipity” What do you get when you combine a high profile attorney on the political track and a future sister-in-law who has a secret past that she dare not let anyone know? Again, masterful use of words.
Algo Salvaje (Wild Things) en Espanol – Paperback
They are not the idle rich which they could easily be. Rich attorney Sydney Van Allen is a rising star on the political horizon. A breathtaking romance for the ages. The author really captured both Faith and Sydney as individuals with karkn moments of togetherness. Faith Fitzgerald is engaged to Eric Van Allen and she hopes that this relationship will bring to a close the sins of her past.
Wild Things was wicked fun This was my first Kallmaker and I will definitely be reading more of her stuff.
